Nepali Typing

Type in Nepali using familiar English phonetics. Two engines: Google Transliteration or our built-in local algorithm.

Conversion Engine:
Google Transliteration (requires internet)
English (Phonetic) Input 0 chars
Nepali Output (Unicode) 0 chars

How to use

  1. Select your preferred engine (Google or Local).
  2. Type English phonetic text in the left box.
  3. The Nepali Unicode text appears automatically on the right.
  4. With the Local engine, pick from suggestions by pressing Tab or clicking a suggestion chip.
  5. Click Copy to copy the Nepali text to your clipboard.
Google gives more accurate and natural results for longer text — it understands context. Local works offline and is faster for single words, but may need you to pick from suggestions.
In Local mode, use a hyphen (-) between consonants to form half forms / conjuncts. For example, k-sha → क्ष. In Google mode, the API handles conjuncts automatically.
The Local engine works fully offline. The Google engine requires an active internet connection to call Google's Transliteration API.
